The 2008 Legislative Session will be held on Saturday, February 2nd at
Chopticon High School in St. Mary's County. Registration will start at 8:15 a.m. and the day will end at 5:00 pm

Follow directions on the website to complete, submit and print the school registration form. (You might want to print two copies, one for your financial secretary’s files and one to bring with you to the conference.) Mail a copy of your school registration form and a school-based check payable to Maryland Association of Student Councils to the address below postmarked by January 23, 2008.

WHO: Middle and High School students and advisors. Each school may send students, the number of which is based on enrollment, and an equal number of observers who must be accompanied by an advisor. Public and private, MASC member and non-member schools are all invited to attend, however, only member schools will be allowed voting delegates.
WHAT: This one day drive in conference offers opportunities for students to elect two nominees for the position of student member on the State Board of Education, learn about the legislative process and lobbying, and debate and take positions on bills before the state legislature.
Workshop topics will include: Running meetings, planning events and involving your student body in school and district decision-making.
WHEN: Saturday, February 2, 2008 from 9:00 am- 5:00pm (registration begins at 8:15 am)

COST: Registration fee for the conference is $25 per student/per adult. The registration fee covers all supplies, breakfast, lunch, and snack at the conference as well as a t-shirt memento.
